Research Data Management Advisory Council

Charge

The Research Data Management Advisory Council advises the Provost, Vice President for Research, and Vice President for Information Technology on the lifecycle of activities related to research data, including policy and planning for all aspects of data management: access (from restricted to open), curation, sharing, preservation, discovery, and reuse. Research data is broadly defined to include digital inputs and products of research necessary to validate research findings performed in all campus disciplines. The aim of the advisory council is to address requirements from funding agencies, publishers, and data providers, and to identify needs, develop policies, workflows, and support models to help researchers manage and steward their data securely, effectively and efficiently. The advisory council will receive administration and coordination from the University Librarian and Associate Provost.
